Senior Accounting Officer/Accounting Officer in the Contract and Cost Management Unit of the Estates Office (Ref.: 532324)

We are looking for a Senior Accounting Officer/Accounting Officer to join the Estates Office.

The Role

As an integral member of the team, the appointee will assist in overseeing all financial and accounting functions related to the Estates Office, including building projects and maintenance works.  He/She will play a key role in managing financial data, conducting in-depth data analysis and preparing comprehensive financial management reports for both internal and external stakeholders.  Additionally, he/she will handle quotations, contribute to financial system development projects and support strategic financial planning.

Qualifications and Qualities

Applicants should possess a University degree in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines and a professional accounting qualification, with at least 5 years’ relevant post-qualification experience in accounting or auditing.  They should also possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills, effective decision-making, problem solving and communication abilities.  Candidates must be capable of working independently, under pressure and meeting tight schedules.  Being a good team player is essential.  Prior experience in construction-related industry and/or tertiary institutions is preferred.

Those with less experience or lower qualifications may be considered for appointment as Accounting Officer.

What We Offer

The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, commencing as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.  A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary.  Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
