Executive Officer in the Department of Sociology (Ref.: 532209)
We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Executive Officer to join the Department of Sociology.
The Role
The appointee will provide high-level support to the administration and operation of a range of tasks within the Department, all aspects of academic programme management, including programme promotion, student recruitment and admission, curriculum development and revisions, quality assurance and enhancement; plan and organize events such as conferences, seminars, workshops and scholar’s visits; assist in development and implementation of departmental new projects/initiatives, and perform other duties as assigned. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
Qualifications and Qualities
Applicants should possess a good Bachelor’s degree and preferably a Master’s degree with at least 3 years’ solid administrative work experience, preferably in tertiary institutions. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); strong organisational and problem-solving skills; effective communication and interpersonal skills; IT proficiency. They should be self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility and positive attitude; detail-oriented and able to prioritize multiple tasks; work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines; work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
