IT Officer in the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 532163) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
Applicants should possess a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Multimedia Technology, with at least 4 to 6 years of relevant work experience preferably in the education sector. They should be proficient in planning and implementing IT infrastructure projects (including server hardware, audio-visual systems and NAS management) and managing the related procurements. They should also be experienced in handling IT central management, computer life-cycle and security compliance, as well as optimising system performance and operations. Besides, they should have strong interpersonal communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation, and be able to work independently or in a team under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
The appointee will be responsible for developing and maintaining smart IT and audio-visual infrastructure, providing system administration and classroom support. He/She will also coordinate with external vendors, and provide technical support for the Faculty’s events and professional training programmes.
