About the position:
We are looking for a Senior Research Assistant to support the implementation of a citywide water conservation project that targets high-consumption users in both the domestic and the non-domestic sectors. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will be part of a passionate, interdisciplinary team working at the interface of science, policy, and public service. You will help translate data-driven insights into actionable policy measures and behavioural change interventions.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager in the daily operations and project delivery of the citywide water conservation project
- Supervise a small team (full-time and part-time clerical staff and field assistants), including the assignment of tasks, the setting of priorities, and the checking of output for accuracy and quality
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., households, property managers, Water Supplies Department officers) to coordinate the tasks of scheduling, communications, and gathering feedback
- Monitor project workflows and ensure accurate documentation and reporting
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- A recognized Bachelor's degree or above (preferably in Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, Business Administration, Communications, or related fields)
- At least 5 years of experience in project coordination or community outreach. Experience in supervising small teams is an advantage
- Strong command of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel
- Highly organized, detail-minded, and capable of multi-tasking under tight timelines
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work across disciplines and engage diverse stakeholders
- Fluency in Cantonese and English (spoken and written); strong writing ability is an advantage
- Experience working in the public sector, NGOs or community-based projects is highly desirable

The appointment will commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal, subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
