Applications are invited for appointment as Principal Lecturer in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 531882), to commence in Fall 2025, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a PhD, or a medical qualification registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong and a specialist qualification in Public Health Medicine or equivalent, and at least 15 years’ relevant teaching practice or post-registration experience in the respective healthcare disciplines. Experience working in health/development agencies, ministries or consultancy firms is preferred. Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to educational innovation and support for students; excellent communication, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills; the ability to manage diverse interests and balance the demands of various stakeholders in an impartial and diplomatic manner; and sound judgement. In addition, they should have a track record in supervising teaching staff and managing teaching portfolio at the Departmental level. Experience in representing the Department at the Faculty or University level on committees or teaching-related matters is highly desirable.

The appointee is expected to contribute to the overall teaching effectiveness in a wide spectrum of medical, public health and global health/development courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He/She will support the School Director to oversee the allocation of staff resources for teaching and coordinate with the heads of individual education programmes.  In addition to teaching courses in related areas, he/she will also assist in student advisory, programme administration, curriculum and pedagogical design, quality assurance, accreditation exercises, and the development of academic partnerships.  Furthermore, the appointee will represent the School at Faculty/University level meetings on teaching related matters, supervise junior teaching staff and guide them in medical education research and grant applications.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
