Research Assistant I/II in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 531738) (to commence as soon as possible for a one-year temporary term contract, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor' s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Statistics, Bioinformatics, or other fields related to life or medical sciences. They should have an excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, good interpersonal skills, effective organizational and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. They should be logical, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently as part of a team. Experience in statistical analysis, proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R), familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, and a keen interest in epidemiology research would be advantageous.

The appointee will be responsible for the research on non-communicable diseases risks in adolescents and young adults, involving data relevant to early-life exposure, metabolomics, and microbiome data. He/She will also assist in a research project involving Mendelian randomization analysis based on publicly available data. He/She will assist in data management, data analysis and visualization, report writing, and performing administrative tasks and other duties in the research team as necessary.
