Applications are invited for appointment as Part-time Senior Lecturer in the Bau Institute of Medical and Health Sciences Education (Ref. 531681) to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a medical qualification that is registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong and hold a Master’s degree in Science in Public Health, Education, or a related field. They should demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting undergraduate student learning and postgraduate training. Solid experience in coordinating and teaching undergraduate problem-based learning sessions will be an advantage. Applicants should have at least five years of teaching experience.
The appointee will undertake teaching responsibilities in clinical education and medical humanities (MH), which include: (i) coordinating and delivering undergraduate courses in related areas; (ii) delivering postgraduate training courses in medical education; (iii) serving as an academic adviser and mentor for medical students; (iv) assisting with research-related activities aligned with the institute’s interests; and (v) fulfilling administrative and/or clinical teaching duties as required. The appointee will be expected to work collaboratively with teachers, supporting staff, students and other stakeholders.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
