Applications are invited for the appointment as Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Ref.: 531503), to commence as soon as possible on a two-year/three-year fixed-term basis, with possibility of renewal.

Applicants should possess a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, a minimum of two years’ relevant experience with demonstrated accomplishments in teaching and contributions in knowledge exchange, curriculum development, pedagogy and administrative services. The Department places emphasis on opportunities in experiential learning, and proven capability to implement these approaches will be a definite advantage. Taught postgraduate programs now occupy a significant sector of the educational initiatives of the Department. Knowledge in master level courses in the relevant engineering fields will be highly beneficial. Ability to work with and to conform to requirements of professional bodies and accreditation panels will be a desirable asset.
The appointee is expected to be responsible for quality teaching in relevant subjects, supervise student projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, involve in course design and curriculum development, and actively participate in knowledge exchange. He/She will also be required to contribute to administrative services at the Department and the Faculty levels
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
