Research Assistant I/II (several posts) in the Cancer Clinical Trials Unit, Centre of Cancer Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 531445) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

The Centre of Cancer Medicine is a platform to facilitate the academic development of cancer medicine and oncology, created to foster collaboration among the cognate disciplines/(sub)specialities within the Centre of Cancer Medicine/School of Clinical Medicine, and with other Schools/Departments/Institutes/Hospitals/Colleges. The Cancer Clinical Trials Unit is dedicated for the management, organization and conduction of oncology and related clinical research.

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Life Sciences or related disciplines. They should also have good coordination and problem-solving skills, as well as good interpersonal and communication skills. Additionally, applicants should be committed to quality and compliance, detail-minded, able to handle multiple concurrent tasks, possess good time management skills, and be self-motivated. A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese) is a must.  Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Research Assistant II.

The selected individual will be responsible for managing and coordinating clinical trials. This includes, but is not limited to, recruiting and screening trial participants, conducting study-related procedures (such as phlebotomy), gathering data, processing samples, managing documentation, overseeing facility operations and ensuring quality control. Additionally, the role involves liaising with clinical trial sponsors, contract research organizations, and both internal and external partners. The appointee may also be tasked with various other responsibilities as needed. The selected individual will receive initial training upon joining, followed by ongoing cancer educational sessions during their employment.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
