Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant I/II in Faculty of Dentistry, to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term or a one-year temporary contract, with the possibility of renewal subject to  satisfactory performance.

Applicants should hold a bachelor's degree or above, preferably in Microbiology, Biological Science, or related disciplines. Candidates should possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese. An interest in collaborating closely with biologists and the ability to work independently with high motivation are also important. Candidates with experience in animal work are preferred and those who are interested in pursuing postgraduate studies are encouraged to apply.

The appointee will conduct research on cell culture, protein expression, and animal and antibacterial experiments in a biosafety level 2 laboratory under the supervision of Professor Peng Gao. For enquiries regarding the position, please contact Professor Peng Gao at gaopeng@hku.hk.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  Fixed-term appointments will also include a contract-end gratuity and the University’s contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of the basic salary.
