The Faculty of Social Sciences is seeking an IT Assistant (Ref.: 531007) to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and a University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totaling up to 10% of the basic salary, with the possibility of renewal.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or above in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, or related disciplines
  • Preferably at least 2 years of work experience in educational institutes or IT
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Ability to convey technical information to non-technical staff members
  • Multitasking ability and experience working independently as well as in a team
  • Experience in computer support, audio-visual system, customer services and hands-on experience in multimedia (photo/video shooting and editing) is an advantage

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior IT staff to manage computing and audiovisual facilities in the Lab and classroom
  • Provide day-to-day technical support for the computer lab, including configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Address technical inquiries from staff and assist with knowledge transfer
  • Perform regular upgrades, manage data security, conduct testing, and handle multimedia editing
  • Provide classroom support for various teaching programmes
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including ad-hoc IT/event support
  • Duties outside normal office hours may be required occasionally

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
