Administrative Assistant II (holding the functional title of Senior Programme Manager) in the Academic Liaison Office of the Registry (several posts) (Ref: 530961) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, and with the possibility of renewal)

The Academic Liaison Office, which includes International Affairs Office, Mainland Affairs Office and HKU Summer Institute, is dedicated to promoting academic exchanges and fostering collaboration with Mainland and overseas institutions.

Applicants should have a good University degree and at least 6 years’ work experience, of which at least 3 years should be at supervisory or management level, and have solid experience in programme development and management, preferably in the higher education sector.  They should have excellent communication skills, including a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); outstanding leadership, interpersonal and organisational skills; a strong sense of responsibility; and the ability to work under pressure.  Commitment to quality and accountability, as well as readiness for new challenges are essential.  Applicants with less experience will be considered for the position of Executive Officer (holding the functional title of Programme Manager).

The appointee will oversee the design, planning and implementation of summer and bespoke programmes for both undergraduate and secondary school students.  He/she will be responsible for supervision of supporting staff, and perform any other duties as assigned by the Office Head.  He/She may be required to work outside normal office hours and on weekends.  Frequent travelling may be required.  Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
