IT Technician in the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy (Ref.: 530945), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal.
Applicants should possess a Diploma or above in information technology (IT), computer science or related disciplines. Preferably with at least 3 years of work experience in education institutes or IT. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; good interpersonal skills; self-motivation; a strong sense of responsibility; and the ability to convey technical information to non-technical staff members, multitask and work independently as well as in a team. Experience in the latest eLearning/eTeaching technologies, programming, and knowledge and hands-on experience in multimedia, like photo/video shooting and editing, would be an advantage.
The appointee will provide day-to-day technical support to the department. Responsibilities include:
- Manage staff’s technical inquiries and assist in knowledge transfer
- Support IT projects/solutions, system upgrades, data security management, web application development, and multimedia editing
- Provide classroom, event, and teaching support for various programs
- Conduct computer/server configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Work on web-based platforms, web servers/applications, website/CMS, and programming tasks
- Perform other duties as assigned, including ad-hoc IT/event support
- Duties outside normal office hours may be required occasionally
