HKU Jockey Club Enterprise Sustainability Global Research Institute, a strategic collaboration between The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), aspires to establish as a world-class hub for Environmental, Social, and Governance best practices for Hong Kong, Asia and beyond. The applicants will primarily research urban energy and carbon emission, including energy, geography, urban morphology, and functions of cities. He/She should possess skills in environmental remote sensing, digital image analysis, and geographic information systems (GIS).

Job Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the research team in collecting training sample data and related quantitative data.
  2. Conduct preprocess and statistical analysis of the collected data.

Job qualifications:

  1. Undergraduate or postgraduate students majoring in geography, remote sensing, energy and environment or related fields, with a strong interest in energy-environment topics and knowledge of key trends in related literature.
  2. Proficient in the use of geographic information system software for data collection, processing and analyses.
  3. Available to work at least 3 day per week and able to participate in a first 5-month research project.
  4. Excellent communication skills and fluent oral English and writing abilities.
