Nurse in the HKU Health System of the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 530909) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

HKU Health System (HKUHS) is the umbrella executive arm overseeing and supporting the Faculty’s clinical enterprises. HKUHS Clinical Centre is an established medical clinic that supports clinical teaching and research activities. Additionally, it serves as an enabling platform to deliver a growing range of primary care initiatives. We are seeking a registered nurse experienced in the operation of private clinic services to join our team.

Applicants should possess a nursing qualification registrable with the local Nursing Council or an equivalent international regulator and a valid practising certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong. They should have 5 years or more post-registration clinical experience and a track record in the planning and operating of private clinic services.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the HKUHS Clinical Centre nursing team to:

  1. Provide quality, safe and professional nursing services to the clients of the Centre.
  2. Assist doctors in clinical consultations, examinations and other clinical procedures.
  3. Support the Nursing Manager in maintaining the smooth day-to-day service operation of the Centre in accordance with the approved service plan.
  4. Participate in developing and monitoring relevant protocols and guidelines for delivering high-quality patient care and efficient Centre operations.
  5. Coach Clinic Assistants and other supporting staff to ensure high standards of patient care and customer satisfaction.
  6. Support the establishment of a patient safety culture.
  7. Proactively contribute to managing clinical risks and continuous improvement process.
  8. Handle patient complaints and contribute to the follow-up of clinical incidents.
  9. Provide healthcare promotion and education to patients and their carers.
  10. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Nursing Manager.

Preferred Attributes / Exposure

  1. Knowledge of private health care services delivery in Hong Kong.
  2. Capacity to work in a dynamic team and multidisciplinary environment.
  3. Able to work independently with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  4. Good customer service skills.
  5. Basic Life Support (BLS) bi-yearly recertification is desirable.
  6. Experience in project management.
  7. Promotion of clinical activities.

Occasional performance of duties outside normal office hours may be required. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview.
