Manager, Development and Alumni (at the rank of Executive Officer) in the faculty of Business and Economics (Ref. 530907) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed- term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

The Faculty’s Development and Alumni Team is looking for an experienced and passionate professional in events management and alumni affairs to join our dynamic team.

Applicants should possess:

  • At least 6 years’ relevant experience in event management, alumni and/or donors’ relationship or membership and database management, preferably in an educational or non-profit setting.
  • A good university degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • An appropriate level of IT skills; Practical experience with graphic design and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or similar design/editing tools would be essential.
  • Strong project management, communication, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to work independently and as a good team player. He/She should be mature, meticulous, open-minded and self-motivated.
  • An excellent command of English and Chinese (including Putonghua).

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Play a vital role in supporting the Faculty’s alumni relations efforts and alumni event initiatives;
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a diverse range of events such as conferences, networking gatherings, alumni reunions, and fundraising activities;
  • Develop and manage event timelines, logistics, and budgets to ensure successful and smooth event execution;
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align event objectives and deliverables;
  • Create visually appealing and engaging graphic posters, promotional materials, and social media content to support event promotion and brand building;
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of events and communication strategies, and proactively provide insights for continuous improvement;
  • Provide administrative support to current/ potential alumni associations, committees and networks, as well as managing alumni databases; and
  • He/She may be required to work outside normal office hours and during weekends, as well as travel outside Hong Kong occasionally.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
