Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Division of Kinesiology of the School of Public Health (Ref: 530896), to commence as soon as possible for 1-year temporary term contract, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

 

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in epidemiology, kinesiology, exercise science, public health, or related disciplines. They should have a strong sense of responsibility and commitment, and good interpersonal, organizational, communication and time management skills. They should be highly motivated, attentive to details, and able to work independently and collaboratively.

 

The appointee will utilize data from large-scale prospective cohorts (e.g. UK Biobank) to explore the relationships of genetic risk, and physical activity/fitness/sedentary behaviour with the risk of developing common chronic diseases. He/She will publish research findings in top-tier journals in the fields of medicine, public health, epidemiology or kinesiology; liaise with clinicians, genetic epidemiologists, behavioural epidemiologists, statisticians, psychologists and other professionals; assist in research grant applications; and/or lead clinical trials to determine the effects of genetic risk communication and wearables on behavioural change.
