Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Manager/Manager (at the rank of Administrative Assistant I/II) (two posts) in the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 530880) (to commence as soon as possible, on a three/two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
Applicants should possess a good university degree, preferably at the Masters level, with at least 10 years’ work experience in the higher education sector. They should be excellent communicators with an exceptional command of English and Chinese; possess a strong sense of responsibility and strategic awareness; capable of working proficiently with significant independence; and be able to keep their team motivated to deliver quality work under tight deadlines. They are also expected to possess a high level of decision-making, organisational, time-management and problem-solving skills, as well as an appropriate level of IT knowledge. Experience in overseeing postgraduate programmes (particularly in areas marketing, promotion, admissions and student engagement), or research strategy development, management of research grants and awards, and developing and implementing measures to boost research achievement, is essential. Experience in events management, developing internal IT systems/applications and overseeing research performance/impact-related initiatives would be an advantage. Applicants with less experience would be considered for appointment as Manager.
The appointees will play a versatile role in leading administrative, executive and clerical staff in supporting a range of tasks, on or above operational level, such as working with senior management on research strategy development; spearheading initiatives that drive research collaboration, excellence and impact; managing a variety of external and internal research grants and support schemes; and reporting on outcomes of such schemes. The appointees will also be responsible for planning and implementing recruitment and promotion strategies for the faculty’s postgraduate programmes, managing admissions procedures, overseeing the organization of faculty-wide events such as research symposiums and mixers, as well as other duties as assigned. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and written test.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will come with a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary for the position of Senior Manager, and 10% of basic salary for the position of Manager.
