Senior Assistant Registrar in the Registry (Ref.: 530871)
We are looking for a Senior Assistant Registrar to join the Registry.
Role
The appointee will undertake duties and responsibilities prescribed by the Registrar. Initially, he/she is expected to serve as Secretary of a Faculty. Depending on performance and operational needs, he/she may subsequently be deployed to lead a Registry central section or administrative office.
Key responsibilities of a Faculty Secretary include:
- To formulate, together with the Dean, strategies and policies to achieve operational excellence and advance the best interests of the Faculty by garnering support from both within and outside the University, and oversee the implementation of strategic plans;
- To steer the outreach efforts of the Faculty and advise the Dean on external and internal engagements, the policy and political environment, and strategic communications;
- To spearhead new development projects to cater for expansion of the Faculty’s impact such as establishing satellite offices and off-campus teaching and learning hubs;
- To act as process architect to design and redesign the operational flows of Faculty administration through standardization, process reform and digitalization;
- To serve as the Faculty’s chief operating and administrative officer to ensure smooth and effective operation of all aspects of administration including financial and human resources, research, academic programmes, student enrichment, admissions, quality assurance, external and alumni relations, governance and space issues.

Qualifications and Attributes
- A degree from a leading University;
- 15 years’ relevant administrative or management experience, preferably in tertiary education;
- A proven track record of leadership and a high capacity for independent action with sound judgement;
- An excellent command of English and Chinese;
- Outstanding analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
Offer
The appointment will be made on a fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. Applicants with less experience or lower qualifications may be considered for appointment as Assistant Registrar. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
