Part-time Hourly-paid Research Pharmacist II (at the rank of Technical Manager II) in the Clinical Trials Centre (Ref.: 530749)

The Clinical Trials Centre (HKU-CTC) is a leading clinical trials management platform established under The University of Hong Kong LKS Faculty of Medicine (HKUMed) and is dedicated to managing and facilitating international-standard clinical trials on new drugs, medical devices and medical technologies. HKU-CTC offers long-term development opportunities to passionate talents who are devoted to a career in the clinical trial profession.

HKU-CTC’s Research Pharmaceutical Core (PharmCore) is a core facility located in Queen Mary Hospital and dedicated to managing, storing and processing pharmaceuticals for clinical trials use. PharmCore is seeking talents who have the passion in promoting healthcare advancement through practising the pharmacy profession in the clinical research domain.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage, receive, store, handle, reconstitute, dispense and dispose research drugs for clinical trials;
  • Maintain documentation for inventory and accountability management and communicate with research teams and internal/external collaborators;
  • Work outside normal business days or hours may be required occasionally.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Pharmacy;
  • Holder of a Certificate of Registration and a valid Practising Certificate issued by the Pharmacy & Poisons Board of Hong Kong;
  • Hands-on experience in drug handling and dispensing, including drug reconstitution and aseptic techniques;
  • Experience in clinical research and basic knowledge in Good Clinical Practice are added advantages;
  • Good coordination and problem-solving skills, good interpersonal and communication skills, and commitment to quality and compliance;
  • Detail-minded, able to handle multiple concurrent tasks, and self-motivated;
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.

The appointment will be made on a one-year contract, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.
