Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor jointly held in the Department of Emergency Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine and the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy (Ref.: 530601), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Pharmacology or a related discipline. They should have strong background and research experience in at least one of the following areas: (1) big data pharmacology; (2) health services pharmacology research; (3) acute toxicology and/or Chinese medicine; (4) emergency medicine; (5) advanced therapies; and (6) pharmaceutics. They should also demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, outstanding academic leadership, and evidence of international recognition. Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Associate Professor or Assistant Professor.
The appointee will work on interdisciplinary projects related to the grand challenges facing drug discovery, adverse events and drug optimisation in emergency medicine. These are collaborative projects, involving departments with expertise in emergency medicine, acute toxicology, big data and Chinese medicine. He/She will be expected to perform state-of-the-art research in these areas. He/She will also undertake teaching duties at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and contribute to service and administration in the Departments and the Faculty. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
