Facilities Officer (holding the functional title of Assistant Facilities Manager) (several posts) in the Estates Office (Ref.: 530136) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary). 

Applicant should possess a University degree in Building Services, Facilities/Property management or related disciplines, with min. of 8 years' relevant working experience, of which at least 2 years in supervisory level; OR a Certificate/Diploma preferably in Building Surveying, Building/Fire Services or related disciplines, with at least 10 years’ relevant experience.  They should be proficient in using MS Office/AutoCAD, and have hands-on experience in using computer-aided facilities management system.  Possession of a valid Certificate of Registration of Electrical Worker (A or above) and a valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card) issued in accordance with Chapter 59 of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance (i.e. by attending the relevant safety training courses which are recognized by the Commissioner for Labour) or equivalent, is a must.  

The appointees will be responsible for day-to-day building maintenance, improvement works or alteration works in all aspects particularly academic and laboratory buildings, residential building.  The appointees will also be handling the tendering process, site progress monitoring, and supervision and liaison with contractors.  They will follow up with service agreements and certificates renewal, communicate with the user departments and internal teams as well as external consultants to ensure works are executed in order with qualified services, and perform other duties as assigned.  They may be required to work shifts, overtime and on public holidays subject to prior arrangement; and to act as an emergency team coordinator outside normal office hours.
