Technical Manager I/II of the Estates Office (Ref.: 530135) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary). 

Applicants should possess a University degree in Building Services Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Real Estate/Facilities Management/Property Management or related disciplines, or equivalent with at least 6 years’ relevant experience at supervisory level in project planning, management and site supervision.  They should be proficient in using MS Office/AutoCAD/BIM, and have hands-on experience in using computer-aided facilities management system.   

Applicants with track records of practical experience in corporate sustainability strategy development, stakeholder engagement, project management and change management would have an advantage.  They should have good communication skills and working knowledge of computer software.  Possession of a valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card) issued in accordance with Chapter 59 of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance (i.e. by attending the relevant safety training courses which are recognized by the Commissioner for Labour) or equivalent, is required.

The appointees will have the opportunity to participate in works of a range of facilities including academic, teaching and learning, research, residential, high-end technology and sustainability.  The scale of works includes day-to-day building maintenance, renovation and upgrading to large scale development.  The appointees will have to be all-round professionals who will assume comprehensive project duties from inception to post-completion.  They will also be responsible for exercising budget; programme and quality controls; carrying out design feasibility studies; coordinating with various parties including consultants, government authorities, internal user groups, and in-house bodies in relation to project execution.  

Those with less experience or lower qualification may be considered for appointment as Technical Manger II.
