Sports Development Manager (at the rank of Technical Manager) in the Centre for Sports and Exercise (Ref.: 530073) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a good Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Sports and Recreation Management, Exercise Science, Sports Coaching or equivalent, with at least 5 years’ management experience.  They should demonstrate strong skills in establishing structures to support the development of university athletes and teams; proven track record in working team establishment and development, budget management and organizing sporting events and competitions.  They should also show strong leadership skills to build cohesive team dynamics and drive the team to achieve the goals.  Proficiency in working independently and collaboratively, staying updated on sports development trends and applying evidence-based strategies.  Knowledge of AI development to automate repetitive tasks and improve productivity will be advantageous.

The appointee will oversee the management of University Sports Teams and various supporting schemes for university athletes.  He/She will also collaborate with The University Sports Federation of Hong Kong, China, and other local institutions on competition and event management; actively engage in educating students on operating sports teams; and promote a sports culture within the University community.  The post will be primarily based at the Stanley Ho Sports Centre in Sandy Bay.  Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
