Applications are invited for appointment as IT Manager in the Sau Po Centre on Ageing within the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.:530057), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. 

 

We are looking for a highly dynamic and proactive IT professional who excels in project management, execution, and quality assurance, with a solid technical background. Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related disciplines, at least 5 years’ relevant work experience in project management, leading, managing and driving IT development, stakeholder and vendor management. Experience in project and development of IT solution for community projects is preferred. Those with good knowledge of Agile methodologies for software development will have an advantage. Applicants should also be a good team leader with strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in English and Chinese (including Cantonese) is required. 

 

The appointee will be responsible for leading, developing and deploying a mission-critical caregiver support web-based solution with our community partners to address the pressing needs of caregivers in our community. He/She is expected to:

  • communicate closely with end users to identify service processes, improvement opportunities and ensure the system or applications match with users’ requirements;
  • design and execute procurement strategy (such as preparation of tender documents, evaluation criteria);
  • manage the performance of contractors and other external vendors;
  • prepare project progress reports, identify, and address project risk(s) to ensure projects are delivered on-track, on-time, and on-budget with proper documentation and quality;
  • support centre’s IT systems and platforms as assigned by centre director.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a written test and attend an interview.
