Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Sau Po Centre on Ageing within the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.:530056), to commence as soon as possible for one year, on a 1-year temporary term with University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Statistics, Data Science or a related discipline with at least 2 years of post-bachelor's work experience. Candidates with experience in healthcare, technology, data science, or older adults and their caregivers setting will be given preference. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (fluency in Cantonese would be an advantage), advanced knowledge and experience with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, Stata) and MS Office applications (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.), and good interpersonal and organizational skills. Those with related track records of academic publication are preferred. Familiarity with gerontechonology, psychotherapy, and experience in conducting clinical research studies (e.g., randomized controlled trials), managing large databases and conducting advanced statistical analysis will be an advantage.

The appointee(s) will work in a multidisciplinary team with local and international experts to conduct high-impact research related to family caregivers of older adults and/or gerontechnology, and will be responsible for big data analytics, development of gerontechnology and intervention protocols, capacity-building trainings, screening and risk assessment, psychosocial intervention groups, social impact/cost effectiveness analysis, and other duties as assigned. They will have opportunities for publication, receiving mentorship for career development, and supervising junior research staff/research students/summer interns.
