Research Assistant II in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 530039) (to commence as soon as possible for 12 months)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Translation, Language, or a related discipline, preferably with experience in translation (from Chinese to English). They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, familiarity with statistical analysis (e.g. SPSS) and MS Office application (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), be attentive to details, with a strong sense of responsibility, and good organisational and interpersonal skills.
The appointee will assist the Project Investigators to conduct a study on the analysis of the learning performance in Chinese language of non-Chinese speaking (NCS) students in primary and secondary schools, and provide support in other research projects related to Chinese language education. He/She will be expected to conduct data entry and analysis of student assessment, conduct interviews with teachers, students and/or parents, draft reports (in both Chinese and English), assist in resource publication, provide secretarial and administrative support to the project, including organising activities, liaising with different parties, and performing other duties as assigned.
