Full-time Research Officer in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 530024)

Applications are invited for a unique opportunity to work as a Research Officer in the Faculty of Education. The successful candidate will be involved in a specific research project related to the swallowing problem.

Applicants should:

  • hold a doctoral or master’s degree, preferably in science in speech-language pathology
  • have at least three years of relevant research experience
  • be a qualified Speech Language Pathologist in Hong Kong
  • have experience in the elderly clinical setting preferably
  • have an excellent academic background
  • work independently in a multidisciplinary team and with external parties including social service groups
  • be responsible, organized, self-motivated, hardworking and able to multi-tasking
  • be proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese preferred)
  • good interpersonal and communication skills

Job Duty:

  • Coordinate research design and planning
  • Oversee project implementation progress
  • Develop and conduct community-based swallowing interventions
  • Facilitate data collection and management
  • Write and submit scientific publications and reports
  • Supervise research staff members
  • Prepare documents for external funding related to swallowing research
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The appointment will commence as soon as possible and end on 31 August 2027, on a fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity.
