Training Consultant (at the rank of Research Officer) in the Hong Kong Jockey Club Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention within the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 530011)

We now invite applications for the captioned post to assist in Jockey Club Online Youth Emotional Support “Open Up” project which is funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the research team for evaluation of a good and ethical practice model for the service platform
  • Develop guidelines related to the chat service and prepare evaluation report
  • Liaise with service operation team to ensure quality and knowledge transfer
  • Review and conduct annotation of chat conversations
  • Conduct training workshops and prepare training materials
  • Provide support for project application and implementation
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the Centre

Requirements

  • Have a recognized Master's degree in social work or counselling
  • Be a Registered Social Worker or a certified Counsellor at the Hong Kong Professional Counselling Association
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant post-qualification experience, including supervisory experience; or relevant experience in case and group work for social service organization or school setting in Hong Kong
  • Possess good coordination, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and as a team
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Work experience in mental health projects in Hong Kong would be an advantage

What We Offer

The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 1-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
