Laboratory Assistant/Laboratory Attendant (several posts) in the Department of Pathology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 530001) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should have completed Form 5 or above or equivalent, with at least 2 years’ actual working experience in a research or clinical laboratory; Certificate holder in Electric Boilers Safety issued by an authorized institute is essential. The appointee will assist in the daily operations of medical research laboratories, which include maintaining cleanliness of laboratories and laboratory wares, operation of equipment, handling of chemicals and\or potentially infectious materials; provide guided assistance in basic research work include caring of experimental animals, preparation of laboratory reagents, preparation of teaching materials; and perform other duties as assigned by supervisors. On-the-job training will be provided as required. Those with lower qualification and less experience may be considered for the appointment as Laboratory Attendant.
