Executive Officer (holding the functional title of Programme Manager) in the Department of Pathology, School of Clinical Medicine and the State Key Laboratory of Liver Research (Ref.: 529986) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)

The State Key Laboratory of Liver Research (SKLLR) at HKU was established in 2010 upon the approval of the Ministry of Science & Technology of China (MOST). In the re-assessment exercise in 2017/2018 by MOST and with the assistance of international experts, the SKLLR received an ‘Outstanding’ ranking.

Applicants should have a recognized Bachelor’s degree or above with at least 5 years’ administrative or event management experience, preferably in tertiary institutions. Applications with Master’s degree are preferred. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); good organization, interpersonal, and communication skills; and proficiency in PC and MS Office. They should be attentive to details, flexible, committed and be able to work independently on multiple tasks and under pressure with initiative.

The appointee will lead a small administrative team to manage SKLLR research accounts; assist in research staff recruitment and financial management; organize symposia and events related to liver research; compile various reports; update websites; provide general operation and administration support; and perform other duties as assigned.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
