Applications are invited for appointment as Non-Tenure Track Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 529950), to commence as soon as possible, on a four-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should possess a medical qualification registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong, with a postgraduate specialist qualification in psychiatry or equivalent. They should display strong clinical acumen and skills in the relevant specialty, with demonstrated experience in teaching medical students, interns and trainees. Proven capacity to initiate and contribute to basic, clinical and/or translational research is essential.

They should demonstrate a strong commitment to and evidence of excellence in teaching, and preferably possess specialized knowledge which can help advance the strengths of the Department’s teaching in the broad spectrum of medical and health sciences education.  They should be able to conduct courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and supervise postgraduate research students.  They should also have a track record of high-quality impactful research as indicated by publications and external grants. 

The appointee will participate in, organize and develop undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes; conduct research; provide clinical services and patient care in psychiatry at the University’s teaching hospitals; and contribute to administrative duties in the Department and Faculty.  Information about the Department can be obtained at http://www.psychiatry.hku.hk/.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary.  A monthly cash allowance will be offered to the successful candidate.   Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
