Applications are invited for appointment as Associate Director (Administration & Development) (at the rank of Administrative Assistant I) in the Central User Facility of the Electron Microscope Unit (Ref.: 528823), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a good university degree in a STEM discipline preferably an MBA degree, with at least 10 years of work experience at the supervisory level in the higher education sector or a related field. They should be excellent communicators with an exceptional command of English and Chinese; possess a strong sense of responsibility and strategic awareness; capable of working proficiently with significant independence. They are also expected to possess a high level of decision-making, organisational, time-management and problem-solving skills, as well as proven ability to communicate confidently with staff at all levels and able to work effectively within diverse teams, both internally and externally. Prior experience in technology translation and event management would be an advantage. 

The appointees will play a versatile role in developing business strategies with key corporations and institutes in the HK and globally, building enduring relationships with new and existing clients; leading administrative, executive and clerical staff in supporting a range of tasks, on or above operational level; spearheading initiatives that drive research collaboration, excellence and impact. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and/or written test. 

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
