Technical Officer in the Department of Chemistry (Ref.: 528803) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

 

Applicants should possess (i) a recognized degree in logistics management,  accounting, or finance-related disciplines with at least 3 years’ relevant work experience; OR (ii) a Higher Diploma with 5 passes in HKCEE, including English (minimum Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007) or a minimum Level 2 or equivalent in HKDSEE in 5 subjects, including English Language, with at least 6 years’ relevant work experience in procurement, logistics, payment, accounting, or finance.  Proficiency in MS Excel, programming knowledge, and operation of MRP/ERP systems (particularly Oracle financials system) is preferred.  Experience in chemical procurement, purchasing and logistics operations, and accounting are absolute advantages.

 

The appointee will be responsible for managing chemical procurement, coordinating logistics, and overseeing general accounting functions.  He/She will assist the Department with purchasing and invoicing responsibilities; provide administrative support; generate financial statements and accounting reports for budgeting; prepare research progress reports; and perform any other duties as assigned.  

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  Shortlisted candidates may be invited to attend a written test.
