Clerk II (holding the functional title of Executive Assistant) (two posts) in the Academic Liaison Office of the Registry (Ref: 528794) (to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

The Academic Liaison Office, which includes International Affairs Office, Mainland Affairs Office and HKU Summer Institute, is dedicated to promoting academic exchanges and fostering collaboration with Mainland and overseas institutions.

The Role

For post 1: The appointee will be responsible for programme logistics, including organising social activities for short-term programme participants, handling application enquiries, assisting in the recruitment of programme helpers, providing general administrative support to the Office, and performing any other duties as assigned by the Office Head.

For post 2: The appointee will be responsible for managing the application system for short-term programmes, conducting data analysis, and preparing regular reports to track application trends to support decision-making.  They will also liaise with internal departments for system maintenance issues, provide general administrative support to the office, and perform any other duties as assigned by the Office Head.

Qualifications and Qualities

  • 5 passes in HKCEE, including English (min. Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007), Chinese (Level 2 from 2007) and Mathematics, OR min. Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSEE, including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics, preferably with one year’s relevant work experience;
  • A good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  • IT proficiency (MS Word and Excel);
  • Ability to work independently, good organisational and communication skills, and be self-motivated;
  • Knowledge of database management and strong analytical skills on the interpretation of data sets will be an advantage for Post 2;
  • Those with less experience/ lower qualifications may be considered as Clerical Assistant.
