Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Civil Engineering (Ref.: 527269), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal.

Duties and Responsibilities
- The development and validation of a multi-modal traffic simulation platform
- The creation of a visualization toolbox
- Assist in the development and validation of an AI-based generation algorithm
- Assist in the development and validation of recommendation algorithm.
Additionally, the appointee will be responsible to develop an APP (including backend and frontend) for travel recommendations tailored to the elderly and disabled.

Requirements
Candidates should possess a master's degree in Computer Science, Transportation Engineering, or any related field. They must be able to commit to full-time employment without any other concurrent employment obligations.
The following skills and knowledges are expected:
- Strong programming skills (Python, Java, HTML and JavaScript).
- Good knowledge of artificial intelligence algorithms and machine learning.
- Good knowledge of front-end development and webpage designs is a plus.
Those with less qualification and experience may be considered for appointment as Research Assistant II. MSc students at a Hong Kong University are also encouraged to apply and can be appointed as a part-time research assistant.
