Technical Officer in the Faculty of Dentistry (Ref.: 532692) We are looking for a Technical Officer to join the Central Research Laboratories (CRL), to provide technical support for the research activities of staffs and students from the Faculty of Dentistry.
The Role
The appointee will assist members of the CRL technical team to maintain and operate various scientific laboratory instruments and pieces of equipment, prepare laboratory reagents/media, maintain laboratory infrastructure, help with the operation and maintenance of teaching facilities. The appointee will also assist the Technical Manager and Assistant Technical Manager to maintaining computer and IT equipment, as well as provide audio-visual and IT services to faculty members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Physics/Sciences or related fields.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a tertiary institution, with skills in:
- Life science research
- Laboratory operations
- Information Technology (IT) support
- Facilities management (electrical, mechanical work)
- Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good team player with interpersonal skills.
Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
- Experience in 3D scanning and printing.
- Experience in maintaining a computer laboratory with over 50 PCs.
- Registered Grade A electrical worker.
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on a fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence in October 2025, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of the basic salary.
