Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow/Senior Research Assistant in the Division of Applied Oral Sciences & Community Dental Care of the Faculty of Dentistry (Ref.:532573), to commence as soon as possible for one or two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Dental Materials, Dental Technology or a related discipline, with research experience in Non-linear Finite Element Analysis, CAD for dental prostheses, AI algorithm development using python / PyTorch, and Materials Science and Testing. They should also be highly motivated and have a track record of publications in international journals. Those with a Master’s degree plus at least 1 year of post-qualification experience or Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of post-qualification may be considered for appointment as Senior Research Assistant. Skills in metrology and 3D printing are advantageous.

The appointee will work on projects related to AI-based dental prostheses design and materials optimization algorithm development, under the supervision of Professor James Tsoi.
