Assistant Registrar/Administrative Assistant I (two positions) in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 537157), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a good bachelor’s degree and have at least 10 years of relevant full-time administrative experience, preferably gained in a tertiary institution or public-sector organisation. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua. They will be mature, meticulous, self-motivated, and collaborative team players with strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills. They should be able to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and demonstrate initiative in handling a wide range of administrative responsibilities. A strong commitment to service excellence and results, together with excellent inter-personal, time-management, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities, is essential. They should also possess a professional work ethic and a high level of computer literacy. Applicants with less experience may be considered for appointment as Administrative Assistant I.

The appointees will lead a team of professional staff in providing comprehensive administrative support to the six Academic Areas under the unitary Faculty structure. Working closely with the Area Heads, they will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Academic Areas, encompassing human resources, financial administration, academic programme management (including the coordination of teaching and learning activities), research support, event and visiting scholar coordination, and general office administration. Key responsibilities include supervising and mentoring professional staff, ensuring effective service delivery, resolving operational issues, and maintaining efficient office processes and logistics. The roles require proactive and adaptable individuals with strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills, as well as the ability to think strategically and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic academic environment. Appointees will also perform other duties as assigned by the Dean in support of the Faculty’s mission and objectives.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. Housing benefits will be provided for the Assistant Registrar rank.
