Senior Software Developer/Software Developer (at the rank of IT Officer/IT Technician) for HCMS Team (Ref.: 534049)
Information Technology Services (ITS) provides central IT services to support the University’s teaching, learning, research and administrative activities. We are seeking high-caliber IT talents to join us in contributing to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of our cutting-edge Human Capital Management System (HCMS), providing quality IT services to the University community.
The Role
The appointee will develop and maintain HR-related applications, play a developer role in digital transformation projects, and be responsible for:
- Collecting and analyzing user requirements;
- Designing, developing, testing and maintaining enterprise-level IT systems;
- Preparing design specifications and system documentation;
- Liaising with administrative offices/departmental users internally and solutions consultants externally.
Qualifications and Qualities
Applicants should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline;
- Solid experience in enterprise application configuration, customization, development and support, system analysis, integration, testing and data analysis;
- Good knowledge and relevant experience in some of the following areas:
- Business and technical knowledge in Human Resources applications;
- Oracle PeopleSoft HRMS and PeopleTools development in Workforce Administration and Global Payroll configuration etc.
- Web & App programming (Java Servlet, PHP), web technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, Vue.js etc)
- Microsoft Power Platform and related technologies, including Power App, Power Pages, Power BI, Power Automate, Teams, SharePoint, Azure and Dataverse, etc.
- Database programming such as PL/SQL, JDBC with Oracle database and UNIX Shell scripts
- System integration, especially for Oracle PeopleSoft ERP, with REST API, JSON, etc.
- AI Automation workflow platforms such as n8n, Langchain, and integration of AI Agent supporting Model Context Protocol (MCP), Python, Node.js, etc.
- Software development lifecycle and methodologies
- Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving skills;
- A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
Those with lower qualifications and/or less experience may be considered for appointment as Software Developer.
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years and commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
