About the Role
The appointee will play a key role in supporting the IT operations of the JUPAS Office, focusing on system development, infrastructure management, and data security. The position requires strong technical expertise and the ability to contribute to projects and initiatives that ensure the reliability and security of IT systems supporting the JUPAS Admissions Exercise.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development, maintenance, and deployment of voice, AI chatbot and advanced systems, coordinating with vendors and ensuring quality standards.
- Support the operation and maintenance of in-house servicers and networking infrastructure, including VM servers, NAS, UPS, and related devices, and assist in providing user support.
- Support the ongoing enhancement of data security measures by working closely with the Data Protection Coordinator, ensuring compliance with established standards and contributing to strategic initiatives such as Data Leakage Protection (DLP).
- Participate in the enhancement and operation of JUPAS application systems, ensuring system reliability and effectiveness.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to IT team members.
- Other duties may be assigned according to the operational requirements.
About the Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- A good University degree in Computer science or a related IT discipline, with at least 7 years’ post-qualification experience in application development and/or system support.
- Experience in Microsoft/Linus server and networking support, including small office hardware setup and configuration.
- Knowledge of data security practices and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in developing web-based applications using Java, Ajax, JQuery, XML, JavaScript, CSS, and UX/UI principles.
- Familiarity with database systems such as DB2 and MySQL.
- Understanding of AI technologies and frameworks, with experience in integrating AI/ML solutions into workflows (e.g., Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, chatbots, data analytics, automation tools) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and hybrid environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) is an advantage.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Chinese (including Cantonese); Putonghua is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
- Highly responsible, self-motivated, and quick to learn and enthusiastic about merging technologies.
Candidates with less experience will be considered for appointment as Assistant IT Manager (at the rank of IT Officer).
