Research Assistant in the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy (Ref: 532607)
Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary term or two-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree or above, in healthcare-related disciplines or data sciences including but not limited to pharmacy, public health, statistics, biostatistics, computer science, data science, mathematics, statistics, engineering or a related discipline with substantial training in quantitative research methods. They should have a good command of both written and spoken English and Cantonese/Chinese, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills. They should be analytical, mature, attentive to details, and able to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Research experience in analysing electronic health records using statistical and/or mathematical approaches would be highly desirable. Experience in statistical analysis, and proficiency in statistical and computer modelling software (e.g. SAS, R, Python) would be advantageous.
The appointee will work with Prof. Ian C.K. Wong’s research team and Dr. Vanessa W.S. Ng on pharmacoepidemiology research studies. He/she will study the methodologies for pharmacoepidemiology research studies, collecting electronic health records from various sources, analyse large and complex datasets, assist in writing reports, manuscripts for publications, and/or presentations, and to perform other duties as assigned.
