Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant I/II (holding the functional title of Data Analyst) in the Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 530913) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will evaluate public health service, pharmacoepidemiology and epidemiological studies on non-communicable diseases using 3 million population-based cohorts in Hong Kong and 8 million United Kingdom. He/She will prepare literature review; perform data analysis; prepare academic publications and reports for funded projects; and the tasks assigned by the supervisors. On-the-job training in advanced programming (R and Stata) will be provided. The post will provide an excellent opportunity to develop a research career involving advanced statistical programming and big data cohort analysis. Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree or above in Public Health, Biomedical Sciences or Statistics
  • Knowledge of statistics or big data analysis
  • Good communication skills
  • The ability to multitask
  • A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Interest in pursuing postgraduate study (M.Phil. or Ph.D.) would be advantageous

Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. Those with higher qualifications and/or more experience may be considered for appointment as Research Assistant I.

On-the-job training in advanced programming (R and Stata) will be provided. The post will provide an excellent opportunity to develop a research career involving advanced statistical programming and big data cohort analysis.
